We had a great time hosting our annual Client Appreciation Event! This year, we partnered with talented local artist Torrie Ironstar. Guests took home prints of his stunning artwork as a “thank you” gift, and we raffled off two of his amazing paintings. Plus, everyone got to enjoy beer from Pile O’Bones Brewing Company, featuring cans designed by Torrie.
As always, we used this event as an opportunity to give back to our community. This year, we supported the Salvation Army by collecting items from our guests and staff.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out! Shoutout to Torrie Ironstar, Crave, and the Harrison James Band for bringing their incredible art, food, and music to make the event unforgettable!
P3A is proud of the recently completed repointing and façade repair at the John Hopkins Regina Soundstage. This comprehensive project addressed issues with deteriorating mortar and damaged stone elements. With the help of advanced scanning technology, P3A conducted a thorough analysis of the building’s exterior, ensuring precise rehabilitation. Additionally, damaged stone was repaired where possible and otherwise replaced. New stone was meticulously hand carved by the masons to match the original shape and profile of the original elements. The stones were then discreetly pinned and epoxied in place to maintain and extend the structural integrity of the entrance arches and window quoining and stringcourses, enhancing both strength and aesthetics of the facade.
A huge thank you to our dedicated team and the skilled masons at Brxton.
Architect and Associate Piper New attended the International Downtown Association Conference in Seattle. This year’s theme, “Inspiring Innovation & Impact,” brought together visionary leaders dedicated to shaping cities worldwide.
One highlight was a tour of Climate Pledge Arena, the world’s first arena to achieve Zero Carbon certification by the International Living Future Institute. This venue exemplifies the possibilities of sustainable design.
Professional development opportunities such as this spark ideas for our own urban landscapes and creating innovative, impactful designs that resonate with the unique identity of Regina.
September 29th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. P3A respects the goals of Reconciliation and is proud to have collaborated with many First Nations and Indigenous communities. We look forward to future partnerships and to continuing to learn how design can thoughtfully reflect their history, culture, and experiences.
There is no better way to savour the last few weeks of summer than by cooling off at Regina’s cherished Maple Leaf and Wascana Pools. Both pools, steeped in decades of community memories, were thoughtfully redesigned with extensive public input to enhance their roles as vibrant gathering places. The upgrades elevated these beloved spots, offering new opportunities for fitness, fun, and family bonding. P3A is proud to have been the local architecture firm behind these transformations and to have contributed to the evolution of these recreational, social, and cultural hubs! Dive in and relish the summer warmth before it fades!
With the Saskatchewan Day long weekend approaching, there is nothing better than setting up a tent or parking your trailer in one of Saskatchewan’s provincial, national, or regional parks.
Hiking or biking through the vast terrain, visiting the beautiful beaches, and sitting around a fire looking up at the stars is the best way to disconnect from technology and reconnect with family and friends. Saskatchewan offers so much to see and do in the summer months.
If you happen to be at Douglas Provincial Park, Cypress Hills Provincial Park, or Batoche National Historical site this summer make sure you check out the visitor centres that P3A designed.
Enjoy the beautiful, warm summer days!
P3A’s James Youck attended the American Library Association Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Diego. This conference brings together 16,000 librarians, publishers, authors, architects, and designers from across the globe to share ideas, challenges, and solutions. James participated in a tour of public libraries where the importance of specificity to a community was emphasized as was the importance of engaging the local design community in the development of libraries.
Libraries are more important today than ever before, not as repositories for books, but as forums for civic discourse. P3A is committed to the role of libraries as civic building blocks, and centres of broad-based, life-long, learning.
